Debunking the Apocalyptic Myth

The world is descending into chaos. Egypt, Libya, Syria and Afghanistan.  Iran is building Nuclear weapons. North Korea already has them. Terrible earthquakes are occurring, Haiti, Japan and Indonesia. The global economy is in shambles. Greece is bankrupt. Our unemployment rate is over eight percent. Gas prices skyrocket, and we sit here and blame the Government. Its not just Obama, after 9/11 we blamed Bush for the war, and all of its effects. Obama is just the guy who can take the blame. If he is elected, Romney will take the blame for the economy. Could there be a different reason why the world is devolving into what it is?

There are many people who will tell you that the world is going to end. The Mayan Calendar is scheduled to run out December 23, 2012. That must mean that the end of the world is December 24, 2012. So What? Maybe they just ran out of room on their big rock? The same thing happened with the Y2K problem. All of the calendars on  computers and electronic devices ended on January 1, 2000. We are still here aren't we? Last year Harold Camping preached that the world was going to end May 21, 2011 and he convinced hundreds, maybe thousands of people that the Rapture would happen at 6:00. Most of the believers of this prophecy sold everything they had and spent or gave away their entire savings.

So are we living in the end times? Well we are a lot closer to the second coming than the apostles were when they thought Jesus was coming. But honestly, The ultimate authority of my end times research is the Bible. and it says in Mark 13:32 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." This means that No One knows, not Harold Camping, not the Myans, nobody.  As for the Wars and Rumors of wars that are prophesied in the Bible. Well, we thought that WWI was marking the end of time. As for earthquakes? Remember the 1906 San Francisco earthquake? That was a bad one. And the Economy? We've been through worse in the 1930's. Blame our laziness not the government.
